DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION

Skills training is at the basis of the changes that await is. It is important not only for young people, so that they can understand and design their own future, but also for workers who are already employed in different economic sectors, so that they are not excluded from the digital transformation.

THE MASTER

The ICO Academy offers a skills refresher programme to train a new generation of digitally “oriented” workers who are experts on emerging technologies.

In cooperation with the University of Turin and the Polytechnic of Turin, the ICO Academy will set up a centre of expertise at Palazzo Uffici, offering a unique academic course: the Master in Behavioural Design.

Why an Academy?

  • Demand for graduates well above the supply (62% vs 33%); it is much lower for people with a high school diploma (38% vs 67%), but the highly skilled technician is always required.


  • Shortage of new forces in a rapidly aging market (40–50-year-olds far outnumber workers under 30).
     

  • Available workers lack the necessary complementary soft skills (flexibility, analytical skills, problem solving, ability to work in a team, proactivity, leadership).

Why Behavioural Design?

  • Designing digital systems around people, knowing their needs and behaviours and identifying the best patterns to support them in a positive way.


  • “Human Centred” experiences are at the basis of all processes involved in public policy design and in the provision of services to citizens, from education to healthcare and wellbeing. This gives all people involved the opportunity to make progress and improve themselves, their condition and profession.
     

  • The inspiration comes from the Interaction Design Institute in Ivrea, an internationally renowned design centre with an avantgarde approach to design, whose experiences and lessons will find new life within the ICO Academy initiative.
